    Step 1 — Find Your Perfect Car

    Browse our selection of cars from local hosts. Filter by location, dates, price, and features to find exactly what you need.

    Step 2 — Book Your Trip

    Select your pickup and return dates and review the listing in full — the daily price, mileage allowance, fuel policy, house rules, and the security deposit if the host requires one. Everything is shown before you confirm.

    Step 3 — Secure Payment

    Pay securely through our platform. You're charged the rental price plus the 4% renter service fee, and nothing else.

    If the listing shows a security deposit, that's separate: you pay it directly to the host, usually at pickup, and the host returns it to you directly at the end of the trip. It doesn't go through CARENT and isn't charged to your card. By booking a listing that shows a deposit, you're accepting that requirement.

    Step 4 — Meet & Pickup

    Meet the host at the agreed location and go through the car together — photos, odometer, fuel level, existing damage. Keep your own copy of everything. CARENT isn't present at pickup and doesn't hold these records, so they're your evidence if anything comes up later.

    Step 5 — Enjoy Your Trip

    Hit the road. If something goes wrong — an accident, a breakdown — contact the host first and report it to us within 24 hours. See the Emergency page for what to do.

    Step 6 — Return & Review

    Return the car as agreed, document its condition with the host the same way you did at pickup, settle the deposit between you, and leave a review to help the community.

    Step 1 — List Your Car

    Create a listing with photos (6 required views), detailed specifications, and your registration plate. We check your car's technical inspection status before the listing can go live, and again while it stays listed.

    Step 2 — Set Your Price

    Choose your daily rate and cleaning fee, set a security deposit if you want one, and offer discounts for weekly or monthly rentals. You control your pricing.

    Step 3 — Manage Availability

    Set your calendar, block dates when your car isn't available, and enable Instant Book for automatic confirmations.

    Step 4 — Accept Bookings

    Review booking requests, communicate with renters, and approve trips that work for your schedule.

    Step 5 — Hand Over Keys

    Meet renters at pickup, go through the car together, and give any special instructions. Take your own photos and readings and keep them — CARENT isn't present and holds no record of the car's condition, so this is what you'll rely on if you ever need to make a claim. If you require a deposit, collect it at this point and note the amount, date and method.

    Step 6 — Get Paid

    The rental price less the 4% host service fee is transferred to your registered bank account or card 24 hours after the booking start date. No action needed on your side — you can track earnings in your dashboard.

    Deposits, damage, cleaning, fuel and fines don't pass through your payout. Those you settle directly with the renter.
