Important Numbers
Emergency Services — 112
Police, fire and medical emergencies. Call 112.
112 also reaches the Patrol Police, who issue the official report you'll need for most damage or insurance claims.
CARENT Support
24/7 platform support: support@carent.ge
Your Host
Contact details are in your booking. For anything involving the car itself — an accident, a breakdown, damage, or theft — the host is your first call. It's their vehicle and their insurance policy.
What to Do in Case of an Accident
- Ensure everyone is safe. Check for injuries first. If anyone is hurt, call 112 immediately.
- Contact the Patrol Police. Call 112 and obtain an official report or protocol. This is normally required to support any insurance or damage claim, so get it even if the damage looks minor.
- Don't move the car. Leave it where it is until the police have documented the scene, unless it's unsafe to do so.
- Document everything. Photograph all vehicles involved, the damage, the licence plates, and the wider scene. Keep these photos yourself — CARENT does not hold them, and they are your evidence if there's a disagreement later.
- Don't admit fault. Exchange only the information you need to. Do not accept responsibility, sign anything at the scene, or agree to any settlement without the host's knowledge.
- Notify the host and CARENT within 24 hours. This is a requirement of the rental terms, not a suggestion. Message the host directly and report the incident to us through the platform. If you don't report promptly or don't cooperate with the investigation that follows, you may be held responsible for the full cost of the loss or damage.
- Prevent further loss. Arrange for the car to be secured or towed if it can't be safely driven.
Vehicle Breakdown
- Turn on hazard lights — alert other drivers immediately.
- Move to safety — pull off the road if it's safe to do so.
- Notify the host — message them through the app. It's their car, and they'll know its history, any roadside assistance cover, and what to do next.
- Contact CARENT support — we can help you reach the host and record what happened.
- Don't arrange major repairs yourself without agreeing it with the host first.
Theft
If the car is stolen, or you suspect it has been:
- Call 112 and report it to the police immediately. Get the report or protocol number.
- Notify the host and CARENT within 24 hours.
- Keep the keys and all vehicle documents in your possession — insurers routinely ask for them.
Insurance and Claims
Every car listed on CARENT carries the compulsory motor insurance required by Georgian law, which the host is responsible for maintaining. CARENT is not an insurer and does not sell insurance cover.
If you need to make a claim:
- Do not move the car until the scene has been documented.
- Get the police report or protocol — insurers will almost always ask for it.
- Contact the host. They hold the policy and will deal with their insurer.
- If you have your own motor insurance or travel cover that applies, contact that provider too.
If you need proof of the booking for a claim — the dates and times, confirmation of identity verification, the vehicle details — contact us and we'll provide the records we hold.
Fines and Penalties
You're responsible for any traffic fine, parking charge or toll incurred during your trip. Fines are usually issued to the host as the registered owner, and the host will claim the amount from you directly.
Our team is always here to help — don't hesitate to reach out anytime.
